Dr. Albert is a Kansas native; he was born in Lawrence. He graduated from high school in Bartlesville, Okla., in 1966, and attended Oklahoma State University, Eastern Oklahoma State University, and numerous U.S Naval Schools. His internship was with Riverside Hospital in Wichita.
He joins us in Oberlin following a 4 ½ year stint with the U.S. Army, working at medical centers in Fort Hood, Texas, and most recently Fort Riley.
Dr. Albert is very familiar with Kansas, having worked in several areas of the state. Prior to his work with the Army, he had a private practice and served as coroner in Hutchinson. He is familiar with Oberlin, having worked at Decatur County Hospital in 1993 as part of a system to help rural hospitals receive temporary physician coverage.
Dr. Albert and his wife, Valorie, have seven children, plus 20 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, located in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Illinois.
He is active in church and community service, and enjoys camping, fishing and hunting – although the latter is usually with a camera.
