What's Happening at CLC

News for the week of May 14:

Our rose garden is in full bloom right now. It is overflowing with pink, red, and yellow flowers on the southwest end of the building. Be sure to stop by to take a look.

Several residents met on Monday afternoon to play dominos. The sing-along group met before supper to hear all the old-time favorites.

The Reading Buddies from Mrs. Tacha’s second grade class visited on Tuesday morning. We will miss the children during summer vacation. We hope that a few will drop in for a visit over the summer.

There were lots of winners at the bingo game on Tuesday afternoon. Pastor Charlotte Strecker-Baseler of the Faith Lutheran Church gave the monthly Communion Service on the Cedar Living Center patio before supper on Tuesday afternoon.

A facility wide potluck dinner was held at noon in the Cedar Living Center dining room in honor of National Hospital Week. The dietary department provided the hot dogs and staff members brought salads and desserts. The Cedar residents were only required to bring a good appetite. Everyone reported having a great time.

A few residents tried to work off some of the big lunch by joining in on a game of bowling Wednesday afternoon.

The craft group met on Thursday afternoon to make bird feeders. Terri Henke provided the supplies for the project as well as lots of good help in making the feeders out of pinecones, peanut butter and bird seed. Dustin Nichols helped to hang the bird feeders on Friday.

The baking group met to bake and eat homemade cookies on Friday afternoon.

We were fortunate to have a few prom goers drop by on Saturday afternoon in their tuxedos and gowns.

The many mothers who reside at Cedar Living Center received cards, phone calls, flowers, gifts, and visitors in honor of their special day on Sunday. Pastors Chris and Sharon Nelson of the Oberlin Covenant Church gave the Worship Service on Sunday afternoon. A Mother’s Day social hour with coffee and cookies followed the service.

We remind our family and friends that we will be celebrating National Nursing Home Week all this week. Please drop in anytime to join in on the fun.
