Birthing Suite
Decatur Health Systems has a special Birthing Suite reserved for the comfort of expectant mothers. Our Birthing Suite allows expectant mothers to go through the process of labor and delivery without being moved between rooms at the hospital. Medical staff assesses infants right in the Birthing Suite, and a time of bonding between the new parents and their newborn is encouraged. All new mothers are encouraged to have a normal and natural delivery of their baby. However, should birthing complications occur, the Surgical Suite is only a short distance around the corner.
Family Room
A Family Room is provided for the comfort of the whole family, where they may spend the night, relax on the couch or recliner while watching television or listening to the radio. This gives siblings the chance to feel they are a part of welcoming a new addition to the family. Baby Nursery
Decatur Health Systems has a baby nursery with the latest equipment and trained personnel to provide loving care to your new infant. If necessary our warmers can help your newborn maintain his/her proper body heat. We encourage families to spend time with their newborn, but sometimes both mother and baby require rest after the hard work of child birth. Relax without worry when you leave your baby in our secure and capable hands while you take a much-needed nap.
